Dr Letticia Mmaseloadi Moja

MBChB, MMed Obstets and Gynae, Advanced Management Programme for Health Professionals, MBA, Spalhe Assessor Course, Risk Management

Dr Letticia Mmaseloadi Moja is a Specialist and Head of the Clinical Unit at the Rob Ferreira Hospital, Nelspruit. She trained in MBChB at the University of Natal, MMed Obstets and Gynae at UNISA and obtained her MBA at the University of Free State.

Dr Moja started her professional career as an intern and medical officer and trainee specialist in 1983 after which she progressed to Specialist/Lecturer then Head of Gynaecologic Oncology Unit, Ga-Rankuwa Hospital; Vice Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Free State; Dean Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Free State; Campus Principal and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Medunsa campus, University of Limpopo where she set up and supported a system for the development of black academics.

Dr Moja has served on various medical regulatory bodies, she chaired the Medical and Dental Professions Board and the National Committee of Medical Deans. Dr Moja has also served on a number of Boards among them the Medical Research Council (MRC), Council for Higher Education and South African chapter of the Medical Protection Society. She was also a panel member at the Academy of Science in South Africa for the consensus report on the revitalisation of clinical research and was an invited participant and session facilitator: Global Health Workforce Alliance.

Her experience includes, leading the Medical and Dental Professions Board of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as chairperson for 4 years and conducting a comprehensive review of postgraduate medical training programmes through the accreditation process of the HPCSA. She has also been responsible for the evaluation of specialists trained in Cuba and Tunisia for competencies required to practice in South Africa.
