The Aurum Institute was honored to host the South African launch of the Lancet Commission Report on Tuberculosis: Building a TB-Free World on behalf of the National Department of Health on Tuesday, March 26 at Tembisa Hospital.
March 20, 2019—Ahead of World TB Day, we welcome the release today of the report from Lancet Commission on Tuberculosis, which provides a much-needed framework for delivering on the political commitments made by Heads of State and Government in October last year at the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Tuberculosis.
Working together, The Aurum Institute and UnlockD decrease the spread of HIV and reduce the high levels of youth unemployment through a large-scale holistic program which equips youth from heavily-burdened communities with knowledge and education about HIV and AIDS; skills development and work experience in healthcare facilities across South Africa.
Chonice Le Roux is an Aurum UnlockD Initiative youth learner who has spent the last 2 months of the work experience component of her SETA at The Aurum Institute, working as a project assistant. Within little time she has grown significantly and she is proof of the impact and success of this project.
