Aurum joined leading voices at the Global Summit on AI in Africa 2025 and the Gates Foundation AI Grand Challenges Community convening in Kigali, Rwanda—bringing African expertise and innovation to the global stage.
Representing Aurum, Nana Kofi Quakyi, Country Director of Aurum Ghana, co-led a pivotal session on scalability in digital health. He stressed the need to strike a balance between designing AI tools tailored to local contexts and ensuring they are adaptable for broader implementation.
“To earn trust and shape policy environments, AI must be guided by rigorous, context-aware evidence,” said Nana. “And those of us developing these tools must ensure they’re rooted in the lived realities of the people they are meant to serve.”
He was joined by Dr. Njeri Kamere, Managing Director of Aurum South Africa Health Systems, who co-led a compelling dialogue on the ethical use of AI, encouraging participants to reflect on questions of accuracy, bias, and whose values guide AI performance.
Aurum Ghana was also one of just 30 organisations globally selected for the Gates Foundation’s Innovation Gallery, where our AI-powered clinical decision support tool was demonstrated live to global stakeholders. The tool attracted meaningful interest from potential partners keen to support its refinement and scale.
