Today, May 18, we commemorate HIV Vaccine Awareness Day (HVAD), a date that symbolizes our ongoing commitment, relentless effort, and shared passion for creating a world without HIV/AIDS.
On this day, we take a moment to celebrate not only our incredible work but also the contributions of volunteers, community members, health professionals, and scientists around the globe working together in pursuit of an effective and accessible HIV vaccine.
Everyone’s dedication, whether on the frontlines of research, advocacy, managing projects, or ensuring operations run smoothly, enables us to push the boundaries of science and offer hope to millions across the globe.
In recognition of this day, we are excited to share that for the first time, Aurum through the ADVANCE program, and in partnership with IAVI and SAHTAC, will host a regional HVAD conference on May 30 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The conference, themed “Accelerating the Path to an HIV-Free Future: Collaboration and Innovation in HIV Vaccine Research and Development,” aims to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders in HIV vaccine research and development. It will showcase the latest scientific breakthroughs and foster relationships among researchers, policymakers, donors, community liaison officers, and community members. The conference is open to both in-person and online participants.
