Aurum welcomes Peace Corps volunteer

Aurum is excited to welcome a Peace Corps volunteer, who will assist with the implementation of health systems.

William Brady will be attached to the Health Systems Division for a year, after a memorandum of understanding has been concluded between Aurum and The Peace Corps, a US agency which deploys volunteers around the world to help tackle the most pressing development challenges.

He was officially welcomed at a signing ceremony at Aurum head office in Parktown, Johannesburg where Aurum Group Chief Operating Officer Prof Dave Clark gave an overview of Aurum’s work.

James T Ham, Peace Corps Country Director South Africa, said they were looking forward to working with Aurum.

“The work that we anticipate doing with Aurum aligns with our priorities, not only in the spirit of volunteerism but in the spirit of bringing technical expertise to the country,” said Ham.

Brady’s work will include providing high-level technical support to Aurum’s central monitoring and evaluation (M&E) team.

Brady, a former member of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says he looks forward to making his contribution to improving the lives of people in South Africa. "I've always wanted to return to Africa to assist with the implementation of health systems and research methodologies and to learn more about them. I am honored to be part of this, Aurum is prestigious with an excellent reputation,” he said.
