Dear Staff, stakeholders, and funders,
We are immensely grateful to Prof Gavin Churchyard for his exceptional leadership of the Aurum Institute over the past 25 years. The Board accepts Prof Churchyard’s thoughtful decision to step down at the end of 2024 to pursue the next phase of his research career.
Under the leadership of Prof Churchyard, Aurum has grown significantly into a sustainable business, with strong executive leadership and a capable board.
We believe that a transition of Group CEO comes at a good time, as the organisation is poised for further growth towards long-term sustainability and prosperity under new leadership. The Board is committed to ensuring a smooth, transparent, transition and will provide updates on the search for a new Group CEO in the coming months. The Board is grateful that Prof Churchyard has agreed to stay on as President Emeritus to support the new Group CEO and continue his own investigator led projects.
Prof Churchyard will remain fully in control of the organisation until the end of 2024, and he has the complete support of the Board and executive team to continue implementing the Aurum Institute strategy for 2022-2027.
